EVENTS Due to Foot & Mouth disease our original plans of attending a much increased number of exhibitions and shows changed. We had to cancel three of our four Stillwater-based and postpone one river-based Parent & Child Events. The NOMAD UK PARENT & CHILD GAME FAIR at SPRINGWATER Fishery on June 17th went ahead. It was a great day with lots of events and there was also other manufacturers exhibiting , entrance was FREE so, if you are in the area do come along. Sadly, the four preliminary events of the NOMAD UK sponsored Scottish National Rivers Championships 2001 have been postponed from April and May to September. A report of last year's two NOMAD UK sponsored events: 2000 NOMADUK NATIONAL RIVERS CHAMPIONSHIP and The PEREGRINE NOMAD UK INTERNATIONAL TEAM CHALLENGE follows after DIARY of EXHIBITIONS & SHOWS April 21st & 22nd - STONEBRIDGE FISHERY, North Allerton - 2 day quasi Game Fair along with Lathkill Tackle & Peregrine - Fly Tying Demonstrations, Accuracy & Distance Casting Competitions as well as demonstrations with Prizes, Daily Raffle Draw Prize and Bargains. May 5th - 7th - ROOKSBURY MILL, Andover - 3 day quasi Game Fair along with Peregrine & Rooksbury Mill - similar programme as above May 20th - LAKE of MENTEITH - 1 day extravaganza along with Lathkill Tackle & Peregrine - similar programme as above June 4th - ROYAL BERKSHIRE SHOOTING SCHOOL - 1 day Lady's invitation - NOMAD UK only with mainly country attire - namely shooting, stalking, riding & the very beautiful Lady's 'To the Manor Born' long country coat. June 16th & 17th - SPRINGWATER Fishery, Ayr - 2 day supported by Lathkill Tackle and Peregrine with exhibition on first day, then on 17th we celebrate NOMAD UK PARENT & CHILD Open Day. Having supported The PEREGRINE / NOMAD UK INTERNATIONAL TEAM CHALLENGE for the last two years, and, in doing so supported very professional and gifted anglers with an event, we wanted to do something special for our celebratory year and support children. Unfortunately because of the ravages and restrictions imposed by Foot & Mouth disease we are left with one venue at present, and are very grateful to The management of Springwater Fishery, Dalry by Ayr for his generous hospitality enabling us to arrange this event. The day will include a competition and instruction events and it is very worthwhile coming and visiting if in the area as a number of other exhibitors are also keen to come and support children and fishing. It is designed to be FUN !! So,...... see you there. Competition Details - 16 year old child and under to be partnered by Ma, Pa, Grandad or Grannie in a fishing and casting competition. £5:00 entrance allows one to keep 2 fish. We have experienced a lot of interest in the day's activities and are making 15th May the deadline for competition application.
